Search messages, groups and people in a circle

Search a whole circle at once: messages, groups and people across every group you're in.

1. Open the search

   In the app, open the circle and tap the search icon at the top. On the website, choose Search on the circle's page. The box says Search this circle.

2. Type at least 2 letters

   Search for a word from a message, a group's name, a neighbor's name or a door number.

3. Open a result

   Results are grouped into Groups, People and Messages. Tap a message to jump to it in its chat.

Filter by date

Tap the date filter to look only at Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month or a Custom range. Pick Any date to search everything again. If nothing turns up, you'll see Nothing in these dates. Try a wider range.

Search one group only

Inside a group, the search looks only in that group and says Search this group. To widen it, tap Search all of and the circle's name.

What search can and can't find

• It searches only groups you're in. Private groups you haven't joined don't show their messages.
• If you joined recently, you might not see messages from before you joined. The circle's admins choose how much history new members get.
• If a message is too far back to open from search, scroll up in the chat to find it.
