Kinds of circle and the groups they start with
The six kinds of circle, the starter groups each gets, which Board tools come with it, and how apartment circles count one vote per home.

When someone starts a circle, they pick what kind it is. The kind decides which groups it starts with, which Board tools it gets and, for apartments, how votes are counted.
The six kinds

Every circle also gets General, which can't be removed. Announcements is offered to every kind but starts unticked, so it exists only if the owner chose it. Starter groups are only suggestions. The owner can untick any of them, and rename or delete them later.
One vote per home
Apartment circles are the only kind with door numbers. Everyone who joins gives their door or flat number, and polls count one vote per home. Two people in the same flat share one answer, and either can change it. In every other kind, each person gets their own vote. See Join questions and your door number.

Changing the kind later
Admins can change a circle's kind under Type & location. Switching to an apartment circle asks members for a door number the next time they open it. See Type, location and door numbers.
