The Circles tab in the app has two parts. My circles holds the circles you're in and anything waiting on you. Discover shows circles near you that you can join.
Open the Circles tab
It's in the bar at the bottom of the app. Tap CIRCLES again to jump back to the top.Pick My circles or Discover
The two tabs sit under the title. The area chip next to the title shows which area Discover looks in. Tap it to change your area.Search
Tap the search icon. In My circles it finds your circles by name and, once you type 2 or more letters, messages that were said in them. In Discover it searches circles nearby by name or description.
My circles
From top to bottom you'll see:
- WAITING FOR YOU: invitations from a circle's admin. Tap Accept or No. See Accept or decline an invitation.
- All, Unread and I run: chips that filter your list. I run shows circles where you're the owner or an admin.
- Your circles, with circles kept on Home listed first.
- + Start a circle and Join with a code, under the list.
- WAITING FOR APPROVAL: circles you asked to join. Each says Waiting for a manager, and you can tap Withdraw.
What each row shows
| Part of the row | What it means |
|---|---|
| Admin next to the name | You own or help run this circle |
| Time and last message | The newest message in a group you're in, with who sent it |
| Pin icon | You've kept this circle on your Home |
| First number | Unread messages. Groups you've muted don't count |
| Second number | People waiting to join. Only admins see it |
| Lock, then kind and members | A closed circle, what kind it is, and its size |
Press and hold a row, then tap Keep on home or Remove from home. See Pin circles to Home.
Discover
- Invitations waiting for you show first here too.
- Paste an invite link into the search box and tap Open this invite.
- Use the kind chips to narrow the list: All kinds, Apartments, Neighborhoods, Clubs, Schools, Workplaces and Other.
- NEARBY lists circles near your area that you aren't in. Each row shows the kind, members and distance. A closed apartment circle says residents only instead.
- Tap Join on an open circle, or Request on a closed one. It changes to Requested. If the circle asks join questions or a door number, a short form opens first.
If there are no circles in your area yet, you'll see Be the first one here with Start a circle, the OR START WITH A TYPE tiles, and Got an invite code? with Enter code. See Find and join a circle.
The + button
The + at the top of the tab opens Start a circle straight away. Join with a code is under your list on My circles. A new one-to-one chat starts from the Chats tab, and a new group starts inside its circle.
