A circle is a group that neighbors start for themselves: your apartment building or residents' association, your street, a school parents' group, a club or your office. Think of it as the WhatsApp group your block already has, with the extra tools a block actually needs.
What's inside a circle
- Groups. Every circle has General, where everyone in the circle can talk. Admins can add more groups for topics like Maintenance, Parents or Lost & found. See Join, request and leave groups.
- Announcements. An optional group where only admins post. See The Announcements group.
- Buy & sell and Polls & events. Two rooms that collect every listing, poll and event posted in the circle. See The Buy & sell and Polls & events rooms.
- The Board. Tools beyond the chat: trusted helpers, important numbers, circle rules and, for apartments, a help desk and space booking. See What's on a circle's board.
How circles differ from your Home feed
Posts on your Home are public and reach your area. What's said in a circle's groups stays with the people in that group. Even in an Open circle, outsiders can only read General, and only members can write.
Who runs a circle
The person who starts a circle is its owner. The owner can make other members admins to help approve join requests, add groups and keep things tidy. See Roles and handing over a circle.
