Block or unblock someone

Block someone so you disappear from each other on Zinola, and unblock them later from Blocked people in Settings.

Blocking someone removes you from each other's Zinola. You don't need a reason, and you don't need to report them first.

Find the person
Open their profile, or find something they wrote: a post, reply, review, listing or message.
Open the menu
On a profile, tap ⋯. On anything they wrote, tap ⋯ on it.
Tap Block
You'll be asked “Block” followed by their name. Confirm, and it's done.

What blocking does

Blocking works both ways, straight away:

Their posts, replies, listings and messages disappear for you, and yours disappear for them.
Neither of you can contact the other, including by direct message.
Any follow between you ends, in both directions.

We're told when someone is blocked, so we can spot patterns. The person isn't sent a notification.

Open Blocked people
In the app, tap your photo › Settings › Legal & account › Blocked people. On the website, open Settings from the menu under your photo and scroll to Blocked people.
Tap Unblock
They're removed from the list.

If you run a circle, blocking a member there is different: it removes them from that circle only. See Manage members.

If someone is harassing you, threatening you or breaking the rules, report them too. See Report a post, person or message. Blocking can't be done from inside a chat; use their profile instead. See Archiving, deleting and blocking chats.

Does someone know if I block them on Zinola?

They aren't sent a notification. But you disappear for each other, so they may notice they can no longer see your posts or message you.

How do I unblock someone on Zinola?

In the app, go to Settings › Legal & account › Blocked people and tap Unblock. On the website, find Blocked people in Settings.

If I unblock someone, do we follow each other again?

No. Unblocking doesn't restore a follow. Either of you can follow the other again if you want.
