Mark “This helped” and say thanks

When you asked and a reply sorted it out, mark it ✓ This helped. To thank someone separately, tap 🙏 Say thanks. Only the person who wrote the post sees these buttons.

1. Open your post

   Open the question or request you posted, from Home, your profile or a notification.

2. Find the reply that helped

   Scroll to the answer, recommendation or offer of help that sorted it.

3. Mark it

   In the app, tap ✓ This helped. On the website, tap Mark as helped, which then reads Helped.

4. Say thanks if you like

   Tap 🙏 Say thanks in the app, or Say thanks on the website. It changes to Thanked.

What “This helped” does

• On the website, the reply moves to the top of the thread, whichever way the replies are sorted.
• Your post shows as Solved instead of Open.
• The person who wrote the reply gets a notification: “Says your reply helped”.
• Everyone following your post is told it's been marked solved.
• It counts towards that person's Helped number on their profile. See What's on a profile.

You can mark one reply at a time. Marking a different reply moves the mark. Tap it again to take it off.

What “Say thanks” does

• The person who wrote the reply gets a notification, “Thanked you for your reply on” your post, by push if they have the app.
• It's once only. A thanks can't be taken back, and tapping again does nothing.
• You can thank as many replies as you like, but not your own.

Who can use them

Only the person who asked. Everyone else can show what they think with a reaction, or by tapping Second on a recommendation or offer of help.
