Ask your neighbors a question

Post a question to the people who live around you. It goes to your area and the areas next to it, and you get a notification each time someone answers.

1. Start a question

   In the app, tap + at the bottom, then Ask a question. On the website, open Ask your street from the menu under your photo, or type in the Ask your neighborhood something… box on Home.

2. Check that Ask is picked

   The composer has five types: Post, Ask, Request, Recommend and Event. Keep Ask selected so neighbors see a Question tag and an Answer button.

3. Write it the way you'd say it

   “Does anyone know a good AC service person who comes on Sundays near Anna Nagar?” is perfect. Add photos if they help.

4. Post it

   In the app, tap Post. On the website, tap Post to and your area’s name. The website then shows Posted to your area, with See your post and Write another.

Tips for a good question

The website shows these tips beside the box, and they hold in the app too:

• Say what you need and where.
• Add a budget or timing if it matters.
• Mark the answer that helped when you're done.

What happens next

Neighbors can Answer, recommend someone with I know someone, or react. If someone has the same question, they can tap ✋ Me too, so you can see more people need the answer. See Say “Me too”.

When a reply sorts it out, tap ✓ This helped on it (the website says Mark as helped). The post then shows as Solved and the person who helped is told. See “This helped” and “Say thanks”.
