Ask for help with a request

A request asks your neighbors for a hand with a job, or to borrow or find something. It shows with a Request tag, and neighbors answer with I can help.

1. Start a request

   In the app, tap +, then Need help (“Find someone for a job, or ask for a thing”). On the website, open Ask your street from the menu under your photo and pick Request.

2. Say what you need

   “Looking for someone to…” Say what the job is and where. Photos of the job get faster replies.

3. Say when, on the website

   The website asks When do you need it: Today, This week, This month or Flexible.

4. Post it

   Tap Post in the app, or Post to your area on the website.

What neighbors can do

• I can help offers a hand. The website asks them “What can you do, and when?”
• Recommend someone or I know someone suggests a person or business who can do it.
• A plain reply, a reaction, or ✋ Me too if they need the same thing.

Your post reads “needs help” after your name and shows Open until you mark a reply with ✓ This helped. Then it shows Solved. See “This helped” and “Say thanks”.

Your number stays private

Your phone number is never shown on a request unless you add it yourself. On the website you can attach one from the composer's + menu with Add a number. People must be signed in to see it. See Add photos, documents and location.

A request reaches your area and the areas around it, the same as a question. See Who sees your post.

The fields

On the website, your choice under When do you need it shows on the post as a badge, such as Needed this week or Timing flexible.
