Tag people and businesses with @

Type @ in a post or reply to tag a neighbor or a business. A tagged person gets a notification, and a tagged business shows your post on its page.

1. Type @

   Type @ where you want the name, then the first few letters. On the website you can also open the + menu and choose Tag a business, or Tag a neighbor or business in a reply.

2. Pick from the list

   Tap the right person or business. The name turns into a tag.

3. Remove a tag if you need to

   Tap the ✕ on its chip (Remove and the name), or delete the name from your text.

Limits

• Up to 3 businesses in one post (“Three businesses is plenty for one post.”).
• Up to 5 people in one post (“Five people is plenty for one post.”).

A recommendation on the website must tag at least one business. See Recommend someone.

What a tag does

A person gets a notification: “Mentioned you in” your post, or “Mentioned you in a reply on” it. On the post, tagged people show as small cards with a Follow button, and + more when there are several. In the app, the post screen lists them under Tagged in this post.

A business appears as a card under your post, with its rating and a View link. Your post shows on the business's page. On the website, the post page lists them under Named in this post.

Tagging in replies

You can tag in a reply in the same way. In the app, the post screen has a Tag a business chip above the reply box. If the business isn't on Zinola, you can still recommend them by name; the website says Not on Zinola yet. That is fine. We will show the name as you typed it.
