Ask a public question on a listing

Every listing can have a Questions section that everyone can see. Ask there when the answer would help other buyers too, like the size, the condition or where to pick it up. For anything about your own deal, send a private enquiry instead.

1. Open the listing

   Scroll down to Questions, marked Everyone can see these.

2. Write your question

   In the app, tap Ask a question in public…. On the website, type in the box or tap a suggestion like “How big is it?” or “Is the price fixed?”

3. Send it

   Tap Send in the app or Comment on the website.

Reply and second

• Tap Reply under a question to answer it or add to it.
• Tap Second if you have the same question. On the website, sort questions by Most seconded or Newest.
• Labels beside names show who's who: Poster for the person who listed it, Owner for the business owner, and Past customer for someone who has bought from them before.

Who can see questions

Anyone who can see the listing can read its questions. On a listing shared only with circles, that means only members of those circles. Your name shows beside your question, so keep phone numbers and addresses out of it.

For sellers

You can answer questions in public so you don't have to repeat yourself in every chat. If you'd rather keep everything private, turn off Public comments under More options when you create or edit the listing. Buyers then see Comments are off on this listing and can still enquire privately.

If a question is reported, it may be hidden while it's reviewed. To report one yourself, open its ⋯ menu and choose Report. See Report a post, person or message.
