Your area decides what Zinola shows you first: posts, businesses, listings, circles and neighbors near you. You can change it any time.
Open the area picker
In the app, tap your area's name (or the pin) at the top of Home. On the website, click the location pill in the header, Change your city or area.Find your area
Tap Use my location, or type in the search box. Some area names exist in more than one city, so check the city under each result.Or pick the whole city
Choose All of your city to see every area, with nothing narrowed down.
Your last few choices show under RECENT in the app, so switching back is one tap.
What this changes
Your area puts nearby posts, listings, events, circles and people first, and it's where new posts and listings start out. It doesn't move anything you've already posted. See What your area changes for the full list.
Before you've picked one
Until you choose an area, you see the whole city. Home shows a card, Which part of town do you live in? Tap Set my area to choose, or Not now.
When you're somewhere else
If the app notices you're in a different area, it asks Looks like you are in that place. Tap Switch to the new area, or Stay where you are. See Area prompts on your Home.
Settings for your area
If location doesn't work
- Location is off for Zinola: allow it in your phone's settings, or search instead.
- Your phone only knows roughly where you are: search for your area by name, or try again outdoors.
- You're outside the cities we cover: search for the closest one. See Your city isn't on Zinola yet.
To learn how your area shapes the feed, see How “nearby” works.
