Theme, text size and your helper

The app lets you change how Zinola looks, pick a helper character, add a widget and use a few phone shortcuts. These are all in the app only.

Theme and text size

1. Open Appearance & language

   Tap your face › Settings › Appearance & language.

2. Pick a theme

   Under Theme, choose System, Light or Dark. Zinola needs to restart to change theme, so tap Restart now, or Later. Anything you're typing is lost on restart.

3. Pick a text size

   Under Text size, choose Small, Default, Large or Largest. Your phone's own text setting still applies on top.

There's also a Dark theme switch under QUICK SWITCHES at the top of Settings.

Your helper

Your helper is a small character who shows you around, cheers you on and tells you what's new. You choose one of nine when you first open the app, or tap Skip for now.

• Tap your helper to ask what you can do on a screen, find a business, or see a tip.
• Quiet for today: tap your helper and choose it. They stay quiet until tomorrow.
• Helper settings, under Your helper in Settings: change the character or their Name, choose How much they talk (Chatty, Now and then, Only when it matters or Off) and whether to Show on screen.

Reminders from your helper are a separate switch. See Reminders from your helper.

Widget and shortcuts

• Home-screen widget: add the Zinola widget from your phone's widget list. It shows a line from your helper and counts for Near you, Groups and For you.
• App icon shortcuts: press and hold the Zinola icon for New post, Chats or Sell something.
• Share to Zinola: share photos or a link from another app and pick Zinola. Choose New post or send it to one of your chats.

Places you've been

Settings › Area & location › Remember places I visit notes trips you take while the app is open, so we can ask you when someone wants tips. Only you see them. Open Places you've been to add or remove places. Turning the switch off deletes them.
