Your area is the part of town Zinola treats as “near you”. It changes the order of almost everything you browse and where new things you post start out. It doesn't move anything you've already posted.
Open the area picker
In the app, tap your area's name at the top of Home, Market or Circles. On the website, use the location pill in the header.Pick an area, or the whole city
Search, tap Use my location, or choose All of your city.
What it changes
| Where | What your area does |
|---|---|
| Home feed | Posts from your area come first, then places within about 5 km, then your city and state. Newest ignores this. |
| Your new posts | The post form starts on your area. Questions and requests also reach the areas around it. |
| Your new listings | Who sees it starts with your area. With no area chosen, it starts as Visible across India. |
| Your new events | In the app, the event form starts with your area. |
| Marketplace | Nearest puts listings from your area and the places around it first. A listing a seller aimed only at areas further away may not show. |
| Events | Near me keeps only your area and the places around it. On the website, Nearest sorts by distance from your area. |
| Circles | The NEARBY list on the Circles tab is nearest first. A circle that limits how far it shows up only appears if you're within its reach. |
| People | People near you and the directory's Near me start with your area. Neighbors see you near theirs. |
| Area alerts | Tell me when a neighbor is asking and Tell me what my area is posting are about posts in and around your saved area. |
| Search | Posts, listings, events and circles are searched in your city. Area names are suggested nearest first. |
All of your city
Choosing All of your city means no single area leads. Home and the market show the whole city, and a new listing starts as visible across India.
What it doesn't change
- Posts you've already published stay in the area you posted them to.
- Listings and events keep the areas or circles you chose for them.
- Your circles stay yours, wherever you move.
- Your followers and the people you follow don't change.
- Searching a circle by name still finds it, even if it doesn't reach your area's NEARBY list.
