Some notes on the fields:
- Business: the app asks Who is it about? and the website Who did the work? If it isn't listed, see Add a business to Zinola.
- Overall stars: the app names each one, from Poor to Excellent.
- Your story: the box counts up to 4,000. Say what the job was, what it cost, how long it took and whether you'd use them again.
- Six detailed ratings: in the app, tap Rate details (optional) to open them. On the website, tap a score to set it and tap again to clear it. They show as averages, never next to your name. See The six ratings and “What stood out?”.
- What stood out?: On time, Fair price, Quality work, Polite, Clean and Would hire again.
- What did they do for you? only appears when the business lists its services.
- Visit date: in the app, add it from the card's +. On the website, it's Visit date · optional. Tap Remove the visit date to clear it.
- Post anonymously: “Your name and photo will not show. The business will not know it is you.” If the business sent you the link, the form warns that they may guess it's you. See Post a review anonymously.
In the app, Publish review stays off until you've given the stars and written at least 20 characters, and the card says what's missing, such as Add a star rating and at least 20 characters. On the website, tapping Publish review too early shows the problem under the field.
One review per business
You can write one review for each business. If you go back to review the same one, you'll be asked whether to edit your review or, after 90 days, share a new experience. See Edit a review or share a new experience.
If you leave halfway, you can save a draft. Next time, tap Restore to bring it back. The website says You have an unfinished review of and the business name.
If a business sent you a link
Businesses can send customers a link asking for a review. It opens the same form, with the business already picked. Write what really happened: the review is yours, not theirs.
Reviews must follow the Community Guidelines. A review with abusive words is saved but hidden.
