Permissions decide what ordinary members can do without asking an admin. There are six switches, and each one is either Admins only or Everyone.

  1. Open Permissions

In the app, open the circle, tap the gear at the top, then Permissions. On the website, choose Manage circle › Permissions.
  2. Set each switch

Choose Admins only or Everyone for each one.
  3. Save

    Tap Save.

The six switches

SwitchWhen set to Everyone
Create groupsMembers can start a group, and they run the group they start: rename it, add people, archive it. Admins can still manage every group.
Pin messagesMembers can pin a message to the top of a group for everyone.
Start polls and eventsMembers can start them. Anyone can always vote and RSVP.
Sell inside the communityMembers can list things for sale, free or wanted that only members see.
Start group buysMembers can start one. Anyone can always join one and order.
Invite peopleMembers can invite others. Their invites still need an admin's approval.

Admins can always do all six, whatever the switches say.

Common questions

Can members of my circle create their own groups?
Only if an admin sets Create groups to Everyone. A member who starts a group can then run it.
Can ordinary members still vote if polls are admins only?
Yes. The switch only controls who can start polls and events. Everyone can still vote and RSVP.
If members can invite people, do those people get in straight away?
No. Invitations from members still need an admin's approval.
