Updated
New members see a Get started card at the top of Home in the app. It lists five things that make Zinola useful, and ticks each one off as you do it.
The five steps
| Step | What it does |
|---|---|
| Choose where you live | Opens the area picker. See Set or change your area. |
| Join a circle | Takes you to circles near you. See Find and join a circle. |
| Ask or post something | Opens the composer. See Ask your neighbors a question. |
| Thank a neighbor | Shows the Recommendations in your feed, so you can thank someone. |
| Turn on notifications | Asks your phone to allow notifications from Zinola. |
The card shows your progress, such as 2 of 5. Tap any step that isn't done yet to do it now.

When it's done, the step gets a tick. Ticks come from what you've really done, so nothing is marked done by mistake.Finish or hide
The card goes away by itself once all five are done.
Hide the card
Tap the ✕ (Hide) at the top right of the card. It stays hidden on this phone. Your progress still shows as a line on the You screen. Tap it to go back to Home.
Common questions
How do I remove the Get started card on Zinola?
Tap the ✕ on the card. It stays hidden on that phone, and it also goes away once all five steps are done.
Why is a step on the Zinola checklist not ticked?
Each tick comes from what you have actually done, such as joining a circle. If notifications are off on your phone, that step stays open.
Do I have to finish the Get started checklist?
No. It is only a guide. You can hide it and use Zinola as normal.
