Updated
WHAT NEIGHBORS SAY is a small section on a profile in the Zinola app. It lets neighbors who share a circle vouch for each other with one of four words: Helpful, Welcoming, Reliable or Kind.
Open their profile in the app
Tap their name or photo, then open the full profile.Find WHAT NEIGHBORS SAY
It sits below their numbers and follow buttons.Tap a word
Tap Helpful, Welcoming, Reliable or Kind to say so. The word lights up and its count goes up by one.
You can pick more than one word for the same person. To take one back, tap it again.
Who can use it
- You can only vouch for someone you share a circle with, like your society, street or a club. If you don't share one, you'll see the counts but can't tap them.
- You can't vouch for yourself.
- If nobody has said anything yet and you can't add anything, the section doesn't show.
What the person sees
They get a notification the first time you give each word. If you take a word back and give it again, they aren't told a second time.
The section shows a count beside each word, like “Helpful 4”. It doesn't list who gave them.
How it's different from Helped
Helped on a profile counts replies that someone marked This helped on their own question. WHAT NEIGHBORS SAY is a neighbor's word about the person as a whole. See What's on a profile.
Want to thank someone in the neighborhood more publicly? See Neighbor of the week and Appreciate.
