Follow and unfollow people

Following someone brings their posts and stories into your updates. It's one-way: they don't have to follow you back. When you both follow each other, you become friends on Zinola and can message each other.

1. Open their profile

   Tap their name or photo on a post, a reply, a chat or the people directory.

2. Tap Follow

   If they already follow you, the button says Follow back. On the website's people list, it reads + Follow.

3. See who they know

   After you follow, a row of people they know may appear, so you can follow them too. Tap Hide suggestions to close it.

They get a notification that you followed them. If their account is private, the button changes to Requested until they accept. See Private accounts and follow requests.

Unfollow someone

1. Open their profile

   Find the person you follow.

2. Tap Following, then Unfollow

   Zinola asks you to confirm.

3. Confirm

   Their posts and stories stop showing in your updates. They aren't told.

Friends

When you both follow each other, the Message button on their profile opens a one-to-one chat. If you don't follow each other yet, tapping Message explains that you can message once you both follow. See Direct messages.

See followers and following

Tap Followers or Following on any profile to see the lists. The Following list has two tabs, People and Businesses. On the website, you need to sign in to see who someone follows.
