Updated

Want a get-together only for your building, street or group? Start the event inside a circle chat. Only members of that circle can see it and answer.

  1. Open the circle group

Go to the circle and open the group chat where you want to post it.
  2. Open the attachments

Tap the attach button next to the message box, then choose Event under CREATE IN CHAT.
  3. Fill it in

Write what's happening, pick when, and add where if you like. Where (optional) can be left blank.
  4. Post it

Tap Post event. It appears in the chat as an event card.

Answering a circle event

Members tap Going, Maybe or Can't go on the card. The card shows how many are going. Tap See who to open Who is coming.

In some circles, such as residence circles, events take one answer per home. The card says ONE ANSWER PER HOME. Whoever answers last for your home sets the answer, and you can say how many of you are coming with One more and One fewer. If someone else in your home has already answered, you can keep their answer or change it to yours.

Where to find circle events later

In the app, every poll and event from a circle's groups is gathered in the Polls & events room. See The Buy & sell and Polls & events rooms.

Canceling a circle event

If you started the event and plans change, choose Cancel event on the card and confirm. Everyone sees it as canceled, and nobody can answer it any more.

Things to know

  • Circle admins can choose who's allowed to start polls and events. If you can't see Event, ask an admin. See Circle permissions.
  • Events can't be started in a direct message with one person.
  • Circle events don't appear in What's on or on the Events page. For a public event, see Host an event.

For votes rather than plans, see Polls.
